EdPsych Connect is the connective tissue a fragmented system has never had: one record that holds the whole child, the whole journey and every person around them, with education, health, social care and the statutory EHC process joined up and the human always in command, so support arrives early, on time and defensibly, and no child falls through the gaps.

One joined-up system for the whole SEND journey

Built over years, and still counting, by a Chartered educational psychologist who worked inside a council’s own SEND service: at his own cost, his clinical expertise and his own code joined to close the gaps he watched children fall through. Every part of it is original, conceived and coded from first principles.

What the platform already does

A platform that asks schools, councils and families to trust it with a child’s record has to show its working, not describe it. These five things are built and running today, and you can walk every one of them yourself on the live demonstration, through one child’s whole journey.

Artificial intelligence that shows its working

Where the platform drafts, it says so on the surface. An AI-assisted output on a statutory surface arrives with a receipt that names the model that produced it, the records it drew on and the human decision still outstanding. The professional reviews, amends and signs; nothing is issued without a named person deciding.

A case record that checks itself, and cites the law it checks against

A deterministic rule engine reads the case chronology and raises review prompts where the record is internally inconsistent or statutorily stale: a review that has fallen out of date, a decision that contradicts an earlier one, a thread of evidence that stops short of the provision it is meant to justify. Every rule cites its statutory anchor by name, every finding is exactly reproducible, and the engine never corrects a record itself. It prompts a named person to look.

An audit trail that cannot be quietly edited

Every recorded action joins a hash-chained log, and the chain can be verified end to end. A record that has been altered after the fact does not verify, which is what makes the evidence hold when a family, a council or a tribunal asks how a decision was reached.

The school’s own roster, joined to one child record

The platform reads a school’s roster from the management information system the school already uses, and attaches each pupil to a single identity that follows them between settings. Where two records could be the same child, nothing is merged automatically: the platform records what it found and asks a named person to confirm, because a wrongly merged child is not a defect anyone can undo.

Statutory documents that carry their own history

An issued formulation holds its amendment chain, so a reader can see what changed, when, and on whose authority, without asking anyone to reconstruct it from an inbox.

Dr Scott is a Chartered, HCPC-registered Educational Psychologist whose route into the profession was anything but straight: an art diploma, a decade in operations management, then a First-Class psychology degree and a doctorate at the University of Southampton. His doctoral research asked excluded children what school sanctions had actually done to them, and found they shared one quiet identity, the ones not listened to. That finding has governed everything since. Across more than a decade on the statutory frontline, serving Windsor & Maidenhead (latterly Achieving for Children), Suffolk, Leicestershire, Sandwell, Worcestershire, Hertfordshire and Bath & North East Somerset, latterly as a county Senior Educational Psychologist and in Resolutions and Tribunals work, he saw the same pattern from every seat: a system built to wait for crisis, spending its scarcest experts on paperwork about children rather than work with them, and families left carrying the coordination the system should have carried for them. In 2023 he resigned his Senior role to answer that pattern full-time. EdPsych Connect is the answer: years in the making and still counting, conceived from first principles and built with his own code, to notice needs early; to make learning something children genuinely enjoy; to give every child a voice that cannot be silenced; to free the adults for the human work only they can do; and to keep the statutory route as a safety net for the few rather than the default for the many. It is his way of reporting back, with evidence, to the system that trained him, on the question it trained him to answer.

The journey so far

  • 2016-2019, Achieving for Children. Dr Scott began his career as Maingrade Educational Psychologist at Achieving for Children (Windsor & Maidenhead).
  • 2019-2023, Senior EP, County Council Service. Senior Educational Psychologist role within a county council EP service, at the centre of collaborative multi-agency early-intervention planning.
  • 2023, EdPsych Connect Founded. Dr Scott resigned from his Senior EP role to focus full-time on building EdPsych Connect.
  • 2024, Platform Development. Intensive development phase, building the complete ecosystem from scratch.
  • 2026, Beta Launch. Closed-cohort beta opens in autumn 2026 with selected UK schools and Local Authorities, ahead of the public launch on 7 September 2027.
